Ioannis Motsianos studies Lighting, Late Antique and Byzantine Lamps, and Ceramics (Archaeology). He has been an archaeologist at the Museum of Byzantine Culture (https://www.mbp.gr/en), Thessaloniki, since 1995.
Iro Katsaridou studies Art History, Art Theory and Politics, and History of photography. She worked since 2005 as a curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki; since December 2021 she is the director of the MOMus – Thessaloniki Museum of Photography (https://www.momus.gr/en/).
Gabor Mihaly Toth has a PhD in history from the University of Oxford, Balliol
College. During his postgraduate studies he specialized in Digital Humanities. Following his PhD he was an assistant professor of Digital Humanities at the University of Passau. In 2016 he moved to the United States where he worked as research fellow in Digital Humanities at the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC, at Yale University, and at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Specifically, he worked for digital archives of Holocaust testimonies (Yale Fortunoff Archive, USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive). His research focuses on the application of data science for historical research. He is the author of two monographs. With Barbara Mcgillivray he wrote Applying Language Technology in Humanities Research (Palgrave Macmillan: 2020). He is the author of the digital monograph, In Search of the Drowned, Testimonies and Testimonial Fragments of the Holocaust (Yale Fortunoff Archive: 2021). At the moment he is a research fellow in Digital History at the University College, Cork.
Der Fotojournalist Michael Gottschalk ist Head of Content der dpa-Tochter picture alliance. Das Content Team der Frankfurter Bildagentur kümmert sich um die Betreuung der zuliefernden Partneragenturen und die Kuratierung des Bestandes von ca. 110 Millionen Bildern. Am Standort der früheren dpa-Bildzentrale zählt auch die Pflege des analogen Fotoarchivs der dpa zum Verantwortungsbereich des Teams.
Nicole Lambrecht ist Marketing Managerin der picture alliance und u.a. zuständig für die Kommunikation der dpa-Tochter. Im Fokus stehen dabei immer wieder Themen rund um das umfassende historische Angebot der Frankfurter Bildagentur und vor allem das analoge Archiv der dpa, das Tag für Tag die Geschichte der Bundesrepublik dokumentiert.
OR Dr. Andreas Pribersky ist nach einem Studium der Philosophie sowie der Tätigkeit als wiss. Mitarbeiter am Österreichischen Ost- und Südosteuropa-Institut (1990 bis 2003, bis 1996 in Budapest) seit dem Jahr 2003 wiss. Beamter am Institut für Politikwissenschaft der Universität Wien. Seine Forschungs-, Lehr- und Publikationsschwerpunkte im Rahmen der Analyse politischer Symbole und Rituale umfassen vor allem Elemente visueller Kultur.
Iulia-Maria Sucutardean studiert an der Universität Oxford Modern Languages (German) und an der Universität Leipzig Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache (jeweils Masterstudiengänge) und arbeitet seit März 2022 in der Redaktion von Visual History mit.
Von 2020 bis 2023 hat sie an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin Germanistische Linguistik und Geschichtswissenschaften (Kombibachelor) studiert.

I'm a Berlin-based documentary photographer and photojournalist, working e.g. for „Der Tagesspiegel". I've studied social sciences, economics and politics in Oldenburg, Växjö and Bremen and photography at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin. In my personal projects I'm working on social and political issues through a subjective-documentary approach and research-based photography.
