Topics
visual-history.de will illustrate the thematic diversity of historic visual history. Subject dossiers on picture editors and academic photography are planned, as are articles covering the fields of press photography, posters, plans, image sources and illustrations in textbooks, object photography (e.g. of museum inventories) and postcards as well as digitalisation in picture archives. Country-specific content is also envisaged such as the history of photography in Hungary. Audio-visual media such as film and television will not initially be included; however, the long-term plan is to broaden the scope of the website in order to incorporate such material. Recently published subject-specific articles will also be successively posted on the website.
